Biography & Professional Mandate

John Wambugu is a communications, public affairs and governance professional with extensive experience in strategic communication, public participation, research and public administration.

He currently serves as the Director of Public Communication and Public Participation, where he leads initiatives aimed at strengthening government communication, citizen engagement, stakeholder relations and public information management.

Currently pursuing a PhD in Communication and Media Studies at Kenyatta University. He holds an MSc and a BSc in Communication and Public Relations from Karatina University, a Diploma in Banking and Finance from Kenya School of Monetary Studies, a Diploma in French Language from Alliance Française de Nairobi, and both an Advanced Diploma and Diploma in Theological Studies from Presbyterian University of East Africa.

His previous professional experience includes serving as Chief of Staff at the Laikipia County Government, Research Manager at Incisive Africa, and Research Executive at Ipsos.

His expertise spans strategic communication, public participation, stakeholder engagement, research, governance and public policy communication.
